Jaya Prada, a veteran actor, sentenced to six months in jail

Actor and politician Jaya Prada has been sentenced to six months in jail for a historical case involving unpaid ESI money to workers at her theater. She has also been fined Rs. 5000. Prada’s business partners, Ram Kumar and Raja Babu, were also found guilty in the case.
The theater, located in Chennai, is no longer in operation. After it closed down, the workers filed complaints against Jaya Prada for not paying the ESI money that had been deducted from their salaries.
