Indian-Origin Vaibhav Taneja Appointed as CFO at Tesla by Elon Musk
Vaibhav Taneja, an Indian-origin person, has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer of Tesla. This comes after Zachary Kirkhorn stepped down from the position. Kirkhorn announced his departure on LinkedIn, expressing gratitude towards Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk for his leadership and optimism.
In his post, Kirkhorn mentioned that he had been with the company for 13 years and was proud of the work they had accomplished together. He also thanked the talented and hard-working employees at Tesla for achieving things that many thought were impossible.
Vaibhav Taneja’s journey began at Delhi University before joining Tesla. He joined the company in 2016 through SolarCity, which was later acquired by Tesla. Taneja started as the Assistant Corporate Controller and was promoted to Corporate Controller in 2018. In 2019, he became the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO).
